Digital Learning Application Instructional Intent

Actively Learn

Actively Learn is a web-based reading platform where students can highlight, annotate, and discuss texts as they read. Teachers can assign texts to students solo and in groups so that whole classes can read, annotate, and interact around texts at their level.

BBC Teach

BBC Teach offers free classroom resources to schools throughout the UK. Find thousands of free curriculum-linked class clips on BBC Teach to help you deliver lessons - all arranged by subject and age group.

Blooket

Blooket is a learning platform that is built in a gamified way. This combines quiz-style questions and answers with fun skill games that students get to play on answering the questions.

Book Creator

Book Creator is an app for Google Chrome, a few other browsers, and the iPad that enables students to create and read multimodal digital books. It is a tool for enhancing student engagement through story creation and multimedia design.

Boom Cards

Boom Cards is an online platform created for teachers to allow for instruction using cards.. Allows students practice basic skills, such as letters and numbers, with a visually stimulating experience via any accessible device.

CommonLit

Supplemental platform for reading comprehension. Includes fiction and nonfiction sources. Students are able to interact, answer questions, complete quizzes.

Dreamscape

Dreamscape combines the strategy and engagement of popular base-building games with imaginative reading passages and interactive questions to create a ferociously fun literacy game!

Duolingo

Language development platform. Students can practice their language.

EdPuzzle

EDpuzzle is a teaching tool used to place interactive content into pre-existing videos from a variety of sources, such as TED or YouTube, or into videos you have made.

Epic!

Epic! is an American kids subscription-based reading and learning platform. It offers access to books and videos for children ages 12 and under. The service can be used on desktop and mobile devices.

Flip

Flipgrid is a social learning platform that allows educators to ask a question either through a video or voice recording, then the students can respond in a video or voice recording.

Gimkit

Gimkit is a game show for the classroom that requires knowledge, collaboration, and strategy to win.

Google for Education

Google for Education is a service from Google that provides independently customizable versions of several Google products using a domain name provided by the customer.

Khan Academy is a non-profit educational organization. Its goal is creating a set of online tools that help educate students. The organization produces short lessons in the form of videos. Its website also includes supplementary practice exercises and materials for educators.

LiveWorksheets

LiveWorksheets allows you to transform your traditional printable worksheets into interactive online exercises with self-correction, which we call "interactive worksheets". Students can do the worksheets online and send their answers to the teacher.

Tech for Ed in Jeffco

Jeffco Public School’s 1:1 program provides first- through 12th-grade students in neighborhood and option schools a district Chromebook. This creates an equitable and sustainable model for technology-enabled classrooms that prepares students to thrive in a connected, digital world in alignment with the Jeffco Thrives Strategic Plan.

All students can access a district-purchased and managed Chromebook to personalize their learning. This closes the digital device divide and addresses the inequities in classrooms to transform learning.

Students in grades K-12 can also access a variety of digital applications and consistent tools that give them opportunities to demonstrate learning in creative and challenging ways. Each of the technology tools supports students as creators, collaborators and innovative problem solvers rather than as consumers of information.

The program also allows for professional development and learning for teachers to use the provided tools and devices to transform student learning experiences. Having consistent tools and opportunities for teacher training allows for more challenging learning and student engagement and deeper technology integration.
