Welcome to Oberon Middle School PTSA

We know that so many people think that "they do not need help in Middle School." That cannot be further from the truth! This is a critical growth time for our kids, so the school and teachers need help in order to give our kids the best middle school experience possible. Because of this, we welcome any and all help, and we are constantly reaching out to get help and support from our parents. During the year, you can expect to hear from us to get help with Fundraisers/ Booster Club, Teacher Holiday Gifts, Contributing to Potluck meals for our teachers, Teacher Appreciation Week, and of course, we always welcome suggestions and all family input. We have a great community here at Oberon and we want to keep it strong

Upcoming Events

Engineering Competition – On Wednesday, October 23, 2019, we will hold the Oberon Engineering Competition. The challenge is to design and build a functioning catapult in 30 minutes, using the materials provided. The competition is to hit the target with a ping pong ball fired from the catapult.  The individual or team (no more than 2 competitors per team) earning the most points with controlled, directed strikes on the targets wins. The top three teams will receive gift cards. Signup here.

Geography Bee – On Tuesday, December 3, 2019, we will hold a National Geographical Society Bee. The National Geographical Society distributes a series of questions about US and world geography and, in a similar structure to a spelling bee, students advance as they answer questions correctly and are removed from the competition after answering two questions incorrectly. The winner has the opportunity to advance to the state competition. It’s a fun night to watch the students shine and to learn a thing or two about our world! Signup here.

Spelling Bee – On Tuesday, January 28, 2020, we will hold a school level Scripps Spelling Bee. The top three spellers will receive an invitation to the area spelling bee, usually held in February. The top spellers at the area bee will be eligible to attend the state spelling bee. Don’t miss this exciting opportunity! Signup here.
